homemade white denimz

I'm considering bleaching out my 501s like this guy.

Didn't Even Hurt My Willy This Time

So I have been really lazy with making my first post. My apologies. I have included a couple photos of how my denimzzzz looked prior to my shrinking on June 12. My shrinking process was quite simple because I prefer the dark look of the raw denim and I hope to avoid any "whiskering" or fading unless the fading is in the shape of a willy conveniently placed on the inside to front of the right leg. Maybe I can trick the ladies into thinking I have a magnum dong that way? But back to the subject at hand. I put the water in the kettle and lit it. I then but my hand on the metal and felt it. Once the water was boiling I added it to the dirty blue bin out on the patio. Mixed in a generous helping of salt. Added the denimz. Stirred the pot a little and let it all soak for about 22 minutes. I pulled them out and hung them up in the sun to dry. Finished product was stiff as little Angy's willy when a 12 year old boy walks by.

Overall I am quite happy with the fit. Having said that, I still don't really love the high waist. Also, the length didn't shrink as much as I had hoped. Generally I still prefer the fit of the APC. The Levi's didn't hurt my small willy during the breaking in process though so that was a benefit. I will try to post photos of the post shrink and past month of wear this weekend.

(Jake edit: Morgan's seeming inability to rotate the pictures was starting to make this look like a men's denim/fashion blog run by a Mormon housewife. we can't have that. not here. not with the threat of Paul writing something to make us go private.)

Matt after two soaks

After two soaks, I'm quite happy with how they've turned out. They're no APCs, but for 1/5 the price, I'm quite happy.

I compared the leg to my APCs, and the width is the EXACT same all the way to the crotch, where the APC are a bit larger after 6 months for obvious reasons (obvious to anyone with me at the MTC).

I want to go for one more soak, just to take out a bit of dumpy-buttedness (not noticeable in the pictures, but evident after only about 30 minutes of wear), as well as to slim out the leg a bit more, but I'm afraid it will shorten the leg too much. Anyone else shrink these three times? How wide are the legs at the knee and ankle?

Angus' Daydream

during a daydream today I imagined that my jeans were like this. I would be able to cut them up and make an entire denim outfit (including a poncho).

Angus: Shrink Attempt 2

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh. That's a proper shrink. The raw shine of the jeans has faded a little, but the crustiness from the last attempt is no longer chaffing my legs. The shrinking finally happened after a 35 minute 90 degree wash with no soap.

As apparent, the waist shrunk a little bit too much. It was difficult to do all the buttons up, but with some vigorous lunges (and a diet) this should no longer be an issue. approximate dimensions: W34 L30

Angus: The Beginning

Look at those legs! Nice? Maybe not yet, but by the time I’m done, this pair of jeans is gonna look proper good. Of the four contestants, for now I have the most girth, therefore I have opted for a 35 inch waist, but 31 inches in length. My preferred length of trousers is 29 inches, so little length adjustment will be required, especially after shrinking.

Jake already posted a photo of my first shrinking attempt... I soaked them in a gallon of boiling water/salt/diet coke/small amount of 35p energy drink. Then I wore them for a bit to prevent the waist from shrinking wrong. I sat in the back yard for about half an hour in a wet pair of jeans and no underwear, oozing dark blue fluid (denim colouring). I reckon that if I sat there for much longer I would be able to walk around with no pants on and people wouldn't notice because of the fine indigo wash osmosified into my legs.... despite my efforts, the jeans are now hanging unshrunk over the back of my bed. They're really crusty, but that's all. The colour hasn't even faded yet. I'll try again soon...
